Doubling down on Ravical: $17M seed round

Ravical has raised a $17 million seed round, led by MMC Ventures. Pitchdrive is proud to be doubling down on Ravical in this round. Existing investor Lakestar is also investing again, and Shapers joins the cap table.
Ravical is building the AI infrastructure layer that full-service accounting and advisory firms run on. It runs the full work loop across the firm’s entire client book, such that the firm’s expertise reaches every client, every time, and proactive work becomes possible across the whole practice.
Founded in 2025, Ravical has already raised $25 million in total, built a team of 30 across Ghent and London, and brought more than 100 accounting firms across Europe onto the platform. That pace confirms what we saw from our very first conversations: the right team, with the right product, at a moment when the profession is ready for it.
A profession being rewritten
For decades, accounting firms have scaled the same way: more clients meant more people. That is getting harder. Client demand keeps growing, but the talent pool is shrinking and experienced professionals are increasingly difficult to recruit.
AI adds a new dynamic. Clients can get answers in seconds, and according to Ravical’s research, 70% of UK SMEs already act on AI advice without checking with their accountant. What still sets a firm apart is its own expertise: how its best people judge, advise and deliver. In most firms, that expertise only reaches the clients those individuals serve.
Ravical changes that. As CEO Joris Van Der Gucht puts it:
“Every firm will use AI, so the real question is who controls it. When every employee uses their own assistant in their own way, the individual gets better, but the firm doesn’t. We turn how a firm’s best people work into a shared way of working that AI carries out across every client.”
Building in the same market, for the second time
Ravical was founded by Joris Van Der Gucht (CEO), Ken Bastiaensen (CTO) and Benjamin Vandermarliere (CPO). Joris co-founded Silverfin, the cloud platform used by more than 1,000 accounting firms across 18 countries, which Visma acquired in 2023. Ken and Benjamin built Boltzmann and sold it to Silverfin in 2021.
Building in this market for the second time, the founders bring a deep understanding of how firms work, where their workflows can improve and what it takes to support them at scale.
Over the past year, the team has set a clear direction and moved quickly, and firms already see the impact in their numbers.
“Complex tax work like inheritance tax and R&D claims used to go out to specialists. Now our own team does it. Our tax planning fees are up 49% year on year, and almost all of it from clients we already had. It’s work we simply wouldn’t have taken on before.”

With this round, Ravical will strengthen its position in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, continue its roll-out across the rest of Europe and enter the US.
Few founders get to build in the same market a second time, with everything they learned the first time. Joris, Ken and Benjamin are putting every bit of that experience to work, and the progress of the past year reflects it.
